Be Part of the Journey

The Sabah Tribute 2027 is a 16-day international overland expedition paying tribute to the legendary Camel Trophy 1993. The route begins in Kota Kinabalu, heading north to Kiulu, Melangkap, and the Tip of Borneo, before swinging southeast through Poring, Kundasang, and into the jungles of Imbak Canyon. The convoy then traverses off-road terrain toward Kun Kun, continuing on to the wildlife-rich Kinabatangan River and the ancient rainforests of Danum Valley. Coastal highlights include Semporna and Tun Sakaran Marine Park, with treks to Bohey Dulang and sea gypsy encounters. A tribute journey into Maliau Basin, the “Lost World of Sabah,” underscores the expedition’s spirit of adventure and conservation.

In the final stages, the convoy ventures to Tenom to revisit Camel Trophy railway history and engage with the Murut people, followed by a highland cultural immersion in Long Pasia among the Lundayeh community. The journey culminates in Kuala Penyu for a symbolic group photo at the 1993 Camel Trophy site, then returns to Kota Kinabalu for a closing dinner and appreciation night. The full route is expected to cover an estimated 1,800 to 2,000 kilometers, combining scenic drives, remote jungle trails, river crossings, and cultural waypoints that define Sabah’s diverse geography and spirit.
