Founded in 2016, Sabah Land Rover Club is a community of passionate adventurers dedicated to preserving Land Rover’s legendary heritage and promoting responsible 4WD exploration across Sabah and beyond. Celebrating 10 years in 2026, SLRC has built a strong tradition of overland expeditions, adventure activities, community engagement and environmental awareness, bringing together enthusiasts who share a passion for exploration. As the driving force behind Sabah Tribute 2027, SLRC is taking its commitment beyond adventure — championing strategic partnerships to transform the legacy of Camel Trophy Sabah 1993 into iconic heritage destinations and sustainable tourism opportunities for Sabah. Organised by the Sabah Land Rover Club (SLRC), Sabah Tribute 2027 brings together a seasoned team of 4WD adventurers, expedition leaders and event professionals, united by a shared passion for adventure, heritage and conservation. With over 30 years of collective experience in off-road expeditions, overland exploration and event management, our team has the expertise to deliver meticulously planned adventures across Sabah’s challenging landscapes. Inspired by the legendary Camel Trophy Sabah 1993, we are taking The Great Adventure beyond a commemorative event — forging strategic partnerships to preserve its remarkable history, pioneer sustainable adventure tourism and create lasting heritage destinations for Sabah.

John Kong
Event Director
Founder and current President of Sabah Land Rover Club, with over 15 years of experience organising major 4WD expeditions across Borneo, Indonesia and Indochina, including Borneo Safari, The Borneo Expedition and Trans Nusantara.
Spearheading Sabah Tribute 2027 through strategic partnerships, heritage preservation and sustainable adventure tourism.
Anthony Wong
Expedition Director
A highly experienced expedition leader with 25 years at the helm of the Borneo Safari International Offroad Challenge and extensive international overland experience with the PETRONAS Team. Bringing exceptional expertise in challenging terrain, expedition safety and logistics to Sabah Tribute 2027.
Shone Majimbun
Marketing Director
An experienced 4WD adventurer with extensive expedition experience across Borneo and Australia. As Immediate Past President of Sabah Land Rover Club, Shone brings valuable leadership and community connections to Sabah Tribute 2027. Leading marketing, promotional initiatives and engagement with the international Land Rover community.
Kathie Renjus
Administration Director
An experienced club administrator with extensive expertise in event coordination, participant registration and organisational management. Having participated in numerous 4WD expeditions across Borneo and Australia, Kathie brings valuable hands-on experience, ensuring seamless administration and coordination for Sabah Tribute 2027.
Yap Nan Tien
Route Development Director
A seasoned 4WD route scout and off-road specialist with over 20 years of experience in major expeditions, including Borneo Safari and Trans Borneo. Bringing extensive expertise in route reconnaissance, challenging terrain and trail development to Sabah Tribute 2027, including the proposed Camel Trophy Trail.
