SABAH LAND ROVER CLUB JAMBOREE 2025
SABAH LAND ROVER CLUB JAMBOREE 2025
On behalf of the Sabah Land Rover Club (SLRC), we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made the SLRC Jamboree 2025 a success!
Despite the rain altering some of our plans — especially the much-anticipated safety driving talk — your enthusiasm, resilience, and adventurous spirit kept the Jamboree alive with laughter, camaraderie, and unforgettable memories.

Paul Si, Leslie Chiang, and Eric Ye – former participants, journalist, and support team of the 1993 Camel Trophy. Thank you for your unwavering support and for joining us at the Jamboree. Your presence added immense value and encouragement to all participants, while reminding us of the pioneering spirit that continues to inspire the Land Rover community today.
RoverNuts International – for rallying in strong numbers from KL, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, and Australia, helping make this Jamboree truly international in spirit and camaraderie.
Shone Majimbun, President of SLRC – under his tenure, SLRC has been elevated to the next level, expanding our reach, strengthening our camaraderie, and leading the club with passion and vision that continues to inspire us all.

Happy Place (owned by President Shone) – for hosting us with an awesome BBQ dinner that set the perfect tone for fellowship and celebration.
The community of Melangkap – for graciously welcoming us and putting up with our 3 AM karaoke finale; your patience and hospitality remind us of the warmth of true community spirit.
Yamin Vong, one of the founding fathers of 4×4 in Malaysia – for your generous support and for contributing your memorabilia to our charity auction, which successfully raised RM3,200. This amount will be set aside as the SLRC Charity Fund, and we will seek a meaningful CSR project to ensure the funds are channelled to the right cause. A full report will be shared when the project is carried out.
To our fellow adventurers, guests, and Land Rover owners, your energy and passion created the true Jamboree spirit – from convoy drives to campsite bonding, BBQs, karaoke nights, and riverside laughter.
We also wish to acknowledge two registered participants who, due to unforeseen circumstances, could not join us this year:
Alex Wong from Kuching – owner of the most awesome Defender Camper rig in Malaysia. His journey was cut short in Bintulu due to cooling issues with his rig while driving from Kuching to Kota Kinabalu. We hope to see Alex and his amazing build at our next Jamboree.
Lee Chin Coon from Singapore – who was supposed to join us together with Azahar Yusof from KL on the Classic Defender Trophy. Sadly, Lee had to cancel his all-expenses-paid trip after his mother suffered a stroke just two days before the Jamboree. Our prayers and well wishes go out to Lee’s mother for a smooth recovery.

Until then – keep the Land Rover spirit alive, and may your journeys always be filled with good company, safe travels, and the joy of the great outdoors.
